親愛的小文： 安徒生（Andersen）的童話你看了嗎？童話裡的醜小鴨（The Ugly Duckling）、國王的新衣（The Emperor's New Clothes），你都記得嗎？安徒生是丹麥（Danmark）人，一八七五年死的，今年正好是一百年。他童話裡的小美人魚（The Little Mermaid），被丹麥人做成銅像，放在首都哥本哈根（Copenhagen）的港口。 美人魚並不是安徒生創造的，美人魚是神話裡的人兒，很早很早就有了。不謀而合的是，中國也有，中國小說裡說的“海外人魚”——“上身宛似婦人，下身仍是魚形”，就是她。 英國以前有一家美人魚酒店（Mermaid Tavern, an inn once located on Bread Street, Cheapside, in the heart of old London: a meeting place and informal club for Elizabethan playwrights and poests.），是Shakespeare、Ben Jonson等文學家聚會的地方。 Ben Jonson也坐過牢。
